Hi Swetha

If you are using the Dashboard, you will need to:
 1. Tick "all versions" checkbox (top right hand corner of the "List of Forms" widget)
 2. Select the greyed out form version you wish to publish
 3. Click Edit
 4. Continue to step 3 of the Edit wizard
 5. Tick the checkbox "Published"

A long way around unfortunately. It would be nice to have some easy way to do it.

I hope my reply arrived in time.

Hi Dagmar,

I remember asking the same question last week on the developers chat. I would happily add it to the wiki it is not already there? What page would be suitable place for it.

Regards,
Omar

Hmm, the function is not readily identifiable, the steps to perform are numerous and multiple people have hit it? Sounds like a potential usability issue. Also, wouldn't the user docs be a more appropriate place than the wiki?

Yes indeed. I am aware of this user manual here  http://doc.openxdata.org/v1-3/  but not sure how to update it. Also there are videos for setting up and form management on the documentation site but they leave little room for searching and editing so I suggested the wiki.

Omar

Dear Dagmar

Thanks for the reply.

This is a single form and has no versions at all. The steps suggest by you works fine for forms which has multiple versions. I am unable to republish this form which has no versions.

Thanks
Swetha

Hi Swetha

You have to have at least one Form Version in order to make a Form published. In fact it should no longer be possible to create a Form with no Version....

What version are you using?

Thanks
Dagmar

It's definitely not that intuitive. "all versions" (different terminology), and then 3rd page of the edit wizard.
There is a published column that we can display in the Form List which can contain checkboxes, but we would need to hook the checkboxes into a backend process that updates the published status of the forms.

Hi Dagmar,

There is only one version of the form (v1)  and i have unpublished it by mistake.

I am using version 1.8.

Hi Swetha

Please try the steps I outlined and then report back. As you have replied, you actually do have a version - v1 (the default/first version created when you create a new Form).

Thanks
Dagmar

Hi Dagmar

Surprising!! it works now.

Steps followed

1. Initially it did not work when i clicked on "Show All Version" button on the dash board.( i tried  this yesterday as well as today and it did not work)
2. Hence  i manually changed  the flag status of "is_default" column in  "Form definition version" table  of the database.
3. To recheck on steps indicated by Dagmar, I again unpublished the form and then logged out .
4. Logged in and followed Dagmar's steps and it works fine. I am able to see the form.

Thanks Dagmar

Regards
Swetha
