Hello

I recently tried out the automated installer for OXD, but had no sucess with it. Some details :

1) I installed on windows 7 (I tried XP compatibility mode too)
2) The script "startUp.bat" which is called from the shortcut which is produced by the installer
and placed on the Desktop, is trying to call a file "login.html". I could'nt find such a file
in my system after installation. Some concret place to look at ?
3) Documentation, which is very well writen, does not help either.

It occurs to me that I am missing some croucial Information, maybe a web server setup,
which your Installer probably fails to install. (I could research on my own if I had
access to the installer code - would be happy to know if it is available)

So, I would like to ask : Can you please give me a hand to succeed the installation ?

Related topic :

A collegue of me reported to me that he followed the Documentation (he copied over
mforms-midlet-2.4.8-me.jar on the SD card of his Samsung phone), but could not make
the client application work. Is there here something special to care of ? Does the
client app not run on androids ? Can you please provide detailed info how to install and
run the client application ?

Thanks

Hi Georgios,

I am not sure about who has worked on the OXD installer. If you want to wrap your head around the code, here it is:

In case you want to do things differently, you can install everything manually on your PC. Here's the link:

Here, instead of going for the Window installer, you can opt for installing the openxdata war file on your Tomcat instance. Let me know, if you have any queries in installing OXD manually, I can help you with it.

Additionally, the mforms-midlet-2.4.8-me.jar file is the one that will work on a J2ME phone, not an android phone. If you want to make the client work on Android, then ODK is the correct client (which is compatible with OXD). Here are the instructions:

Hope this helps,
