Hi all,

I recently wanted to assign someone to an issue but realized I couldn't since they weren't an official part of the OpenWorm Github organization. Traditionally I think we've reserved adding someone to the organization until they've produced something that the organization would like to use (i.e. accepted a pull request) with the barrier to entry being relatively low.

As a workaround, I created a team of "movement validation potential contributors" with read access to the repositories of interest. Note that I'm not exactly sure what read access means for public repositories. Regardless, this allows me to assign these team members to issues.

Do these "potential contributor" teams sound reasonable?

Makes sense, Jim.  I wish Github would allow you to assign anyone with a GitHub account to any issue.  Your solution sounds like a good workaround.

Thanks,
  Stephen
