Personal introduction and intentions

Hello to everyone in the OpenWISP community!

I'm Cosimo Crocchini, a software developer based in Rome, Italy.

In my spare time I help a small tech start-up and we are planning 

to use OpenWISP (obviously OpenWISP2) for the remote 

management of our OpenWRT devices.

I’m currently studying OpenWISP to match our requirements and

I’m looking at GitHub OpenWISP Contributor’s Board to start contribution.

One of our main requirements is the OpenWISP REST API that I found in 

project ideas for GSoC 2021. In my humble opinion, this is a good news 

that expand  the potential of OpenWISP due to integration with other systems.

Now my first question: based on your experience, do you have hints 

to choose a cloud provider to host OpenWISP2 and a OpenVPN server?

I don’t reject an on-premise solution, but this is a second (or last) choice.

I hope I can contribute to OpenWISP and work with the community

as much as possible.

Hi Cosimo and welcome,

for hosting OpenWISP, you could use DigitalOcean or Google Cloud VMs.

If you are well versed in docker and are ready to put your hands on docker-openwisp (since it's still not officially released) you may use any public cloud.
