Updates on GSOC'26 project - add more timeseriesDB

This thread will be used to track the progress of the GSoC 2026 project, Add more TSDB in OpenWisp monitoring
[June 15 - June 19]

List of Tasks I have worked on:

• Worked on CI integration, polishing the tests and making changes in existing tests so they are influxDB2 compatible.
• Worked on fixing the broker queries as said by the mentors.
• Worked on adding ABC class for both time series databases. The work on this is in progress.

Tasks I will be working on next week

• completed the addition of ABC and adjusting the test cases accordingly.
• Polish the code for influxDB so it is ready to review by mentors

[June 22 - June 26]

List of Tasks I have worked on:

• working on adding a BaseTimeseriesClient ABC, moving both influxdb and influxdb2 to implement the same validated backend interface, changed the tests accordingly.
• Fixed the aggregate chart query in influxDB2 which was causing the inconsistent gaps in bars on ping charts.

Tasks I will be working on next week

• Review the code with help of coderabbit.
• Review the old Elasticsearch TSDB PR and plan the implementation.
• Address the comments and feedback on influxdb2 by mentors (if any)

List of Tasks I have worked on:

• updated the gsoc26-add-more-tsdb branch with master.
• created a new PR for influxdb2 changes because the previous PR got contaminated while rebasing with master.
• addressed the review comments from coderabbit.

• Review the code with help of coderabbit.

• Address the comments and feedback on influxdb2 by mentors.

List of Tasks I have worked on:

• addressed 20+ CodeRabbit and mentor's review comments on add support for InfluxDB2
• Fixed the InfluxDB2 ping chart zoom issue by converting custom chart ranges to UTC and aligning daily Flux buckets with the request timezone here
• Updated the failing raw-query date test to run only for InfluxDB1 here
• Pushed the changes to staging for testing.

• Pushed blog content and prepared project demo video for OpenWISP website.

List of Tasks I have worked on:

• InfluxDB2 PR merged to gsoc26-add-more-tsdb branch #801
• Discussed the Elasticsearch backend implementation approach, including whether to use regular Data Streams or Time Series Data Streams, and evaluated Query DSL vs ES|QL for querying.
• Started working on Elasticsearch support in PR #829.
• Published the midterm evaluation blog post and video.

• Finalize the implementation approach for ElasticSearch.

List of Tasks I have worked on:

•  Continued developing the Elasticsearch TSDB backend by completing core data-stream lifecycle, read/write, retention, query generation, and result compatibility flows. Added unit and functional tests and manually validated monitoring endpoints against Elasticsearch in PR#829.
• The Elasticsearch implementation and tests are shaping up well, So I began the first round of CodeRabbit review feedback with the required fixes and documentation updates.

Tasks I will be working on next week:

• Continue addressing further rounds of CodeRabbit and maintainer review feedback on the Elasticsearch PR.
