This thread will be used for tracking weekly progress for GSoC'22 project Add iperf bandwidth monitoring check to OpenWISP Monitoring.

List of tasks I have worked on:

• Will start working on my project according to the issues in my board.

Hi Oliver,

the other non strictly GSOC related work Aryaman did is part of his training during the community bonding period of GSoC, so it's still relevant.

This kind of training allows contributors to get acquainted with the community they're contributed to and allows them to gain more confidence.

The coding period officially starts next monday, so during the next week we shall close any open training task.

List of tasks I have worked on:

• Worked on “Make Iperf command configurable” (https://github.com/openwisp/openwisp-monitoring/issues/398), Currently I have added port number and iperf test time interval as an option.
• Fixed bug “JSONDecodeError raised if iperf3 is not installed on the device” (https://github.com/openwisp/openwisp-monitoring/pull/394).
• After deploying the check to the demo system, we found that run_checks task is executed in every 5 minutes which triggers the iperf check every 5 minutes along with other checks,
• To solve this issue, we need to add separate celery beat configuration for iperf checks.
• Worked on “Configure celery beat for Iperf check “ (https://github.com/openwisp/openwisp-monitoring/issues/390).
• Improved docs as per review suggestions by mentors.
