Hi everyone!

OpenWISP is looking for experienced users and/or contributors to mentor students in Google Summer of Code 2025! As a mentor, you'll guide a student through a project, helping them grow while improving OpenWISP.

What’s Involved?
  • Help shape and refine a project proposal
  • Provide technical guidance and feedback
  • Review code and ensure quality
  • Support the student’s integration into OpenWISP
  • Evaluate progress at midterm and final stages
Why Mentor?
  • Make a lasting impact on open-source and a student’s career
  • Gain recognition in the OpenWISP community
  • Improve your mentoring and leadership skills
  • Expand your network with other mentors and contributors
  • Once a year, one or two mentors are selected to attend the Google Mentor Summit, typically held in one of Google's buildings in Sunnyvale, California, the trip is funded by Google

We have 9 mentors signed up this year, it looks like we have the right chances of having a memorable Google Summer of Code this year!

As usual, I recommend contributors to continue their training and to participate actively.
In order to get started contributing, please follow the Contributing Guidelines, everything is explained there, including where to look for open issues.
