Congratulations to all the accepted contributors
You have been selected not just because of your proposals and the effort you put in during the pre GSoC phase, but also because of your consistent involvement in recent months. You have helped push the project forward, shown initiative, and demonstrated the ability to research and solve problems on your own. This quality is essential, because we will not be solving problems for you. Our goal is to guide you and help you grow, not to spoon feed you. This program is about learning to think and work independently, while still having support when you need it.
A couple of projects were uncertain at first, either because the proposal needed more work or because the contributor had joined a bit late or had not contributed enough to the relevant module. In both cases though, the effort shown in recent weeks made the difference and helped us decide.
Choosing five projects was not easy. It means a lot of work for us mentors, but we believe in your potential and are ready to support you.
Please get started right away with the following:
- Revise your GSoC idea and proposal. Make sure there is a GitHub issue for each expected outcome. Some of you already created most of the issues, others still need to. Share a summary of your issues here so we can review and tag them properly.
- Wrap up any open pull requests as soon as possible.
Some quick notes for each of you:
- Deepanshu, your project involves a large amount of work so I strongly recommend starting asap after finishing your open PRs.
- Aman, you are welcome to continue contributing during the community bonding period. Your work so far has been very helpful, and it is clear that you are learning quickly. That is setting you up for success and we are happy to support you.
- Roshan and Yash, we think a bit more training would be helpful for you. Feel free to reach out if you need guidance.
- Thibaut is ready to begin. Since his project is not directly tied to any OpenWISP module, he can move forward without delay.

Here are the expected outcomes of my project Improve OpenWISP General Map: Indoor, Mobile, Linkable URLs,
1. openwisp-monitoring: Add a dedicated page for showing devices on the map
2. openwisp-controller: Add API endpoint that returns co-ordinates on indoor map
3. openwisp-monitoring: Allow to drill down to indoor map (floor plan) from map
4. netjsongraph.js: Make actions bookmarkable
5. openwisp-monitoring: Add a URL in the device's change page to view the device on the full map
