Dear VT Colleagues,

The University Libraries' flyer "Textbooks too expensive?" is now available for VT Students for Fall 2025 courses.

Kindly share the flyer broadly — and especially with students. If you have access to Hokie Parent groups, please especially share there and let me know if you have done so.

The flyer has a listing of student self-advocacy strategies and includes:
  • links for library-owned eBooks (zero cost to students) if reported by instructors/departments to the bookstore
  • request form for library purchases/additions to the collection
  • information for departments/professors to put a copy on Library Reserve as required by the Faculty Handbook 9.4
  • financial aid office contact information
  • a listing of vetted and/or freely-available open educational resources
  • advocacy and support to pursue long-term solutions
  • an student response form/leave us a message (anonymous)

Kindly share the flyer broadly — and especially with VT students. If you have access to Hokie Parent groups, please especially share there and let me know if you have done so.

Comments and feedback may be sent to me directly.

Thank you,
Anita
