Hi, everyone!
I'd like you all to be aware early that the OpenVSP Ground school will be moving from its current home on the Langley Research Center servers to the NASA.gov domain. NASA has been working for quite a while to refresh our online presence and that also means consolidating our numerous sites under one NASA umbrella. The OpenVSP Ground School was selected for migration because of its steady user base, the impact to the community, and the relative ease of transfer.
Your access to the training library _should_ not change. The current URL will redirect to the new site automatically and you'll be able to find the videos in the same layout as before. There will be a different look and feel to the site but the content will remain. I'm also making every effort to ensure that you are able to easily navigate the content.
The transition is scheduled to take place on September 30, 2025. At that time, the current site will be changed to NASA-internal only for any lingering transition issues and the new site will be fully live. If, for whatever reason, the current site is switched before the new site is available, the YouTube videos will still be available on the OpenVSP Videos channel. You just won't have any of the site context to go with them.
Please be patient while I get the new site structured properly and when everything is live, I'm always open to feedback to make things better. (Yes the content is a bit dated by now. I'm working on that.) Hopefully this will be relatively painless for all of you. I know that this timeline is right in the middle of academic semesters when our activity jumps considerably. I'm sensitive to these needs and will do my best to make sure you have access to the training, one way or another.
Thank you all for your continued use and support of the site and I hope it continues to serve.
