Hi,

I have a fuselage geometry with an end cap shaped like a rounded rectangle featuring a central dip, as shown. In OpenVSP, this is resulting in overlapping tessellation (shown), and I’m unsure how to resolve it. This issue does not occur with a simple rounded rectangle, but I cannot modify my geometry to that shape. How can I fix this tessellation problem while preserving my current design?

Instead of using an end cap, try adding an additional cross section and set it to a point type.

Thanks. Converted the end cross-section to a point and it did remove the weird tessellation but now the surface is not flat as shown in side view.

Okay so I changed the skinning parameters of the point section and got a flat surface. I hope this is correct. Thanks, Rob.

Yes, the correct way to ge the effect you want is by changing the skinning parameters.  However, if you want a sharp corner with a flat bottom, you can achieve that too by turning 'off' the skinning parameters.

I suggest you watch the VSP Ground School videos on skinning if you have trouble
