Hi Rob, Brandon,

I was watching the recent 2025 OpenVSP Workshop: VSPAERO Examples and noticed the following:
  • Under Case Setup the Thick/Thin dropdowns were ordered
    • Thick Set    Thin Set
  • Under Moment Reference Position they were ordered:
    • Thick Set    Thin Set
This is consistent and fine.

However, when I downloaded OpenVSP 3.46.0, they are ordered as follows:
  • Under Case Setup the Thick/Thin dropdowns were ordered
    • Thin Set    Thick Set
  • Under Moment Reference Position they were ordered:
    • Thick Set    Thin Set
Screen capture is attached:

Which leads me to my questions.

What is the purpose of having the Thick Set/Thin Set Drop downs under Moment Reference Position??
Will the order of these dropdowns be corrected to be consistent between the two locations?

Thanks!

I will try to remember to make the Moment Reference ordering match the Case Setup ordering.

The choices under the Moment Reference area are probably never used by most users.  Those options configure the mass properties calculation for if you want to click the 'Calc CG' button to set the moment reference location.  They are not used for anything else.

I believe most users set the moment reference location manually, so those choices are usually not even used.
