Hello, everyone.

In the interests of health and safety with the increased risk of the COVID-19 Delta variant and to accommodate participants and presenters that do not wish to travel, we have made the decision that the OpenVSP Workshop will once again be a fully virtual event. Similar to last year, the workshop will be streamed online on the OpenVSP YouTube channel, completely free and open to the public! We will also be recording the workshop and uploading presentation or tutorial segments so you can go back and re-watch as needed.

Many fundamental OpenVSP topics were presented and recorded at last year’s workshop which means we have the opportunity to explore some more nuanced or in-depth features and tutorials. We will also be providing an update on the OpenVSP Ground School content and providing a list of priority topics for tutorials. As always, we will provide feature updates and development progress along with presentations covering active areas of research.

We hope that providing an open and free virtual event will enable increased participation among students, teachers, industry professionals, and the International community. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience in this robust community and we would love to share that knowledge with the world. To that end, we are opening our call for papers or presentations to include everyone interested. If you are using OpenVSP to educate or in university design courses, tell us about your experiences. If you have had successes or failures using OpenVSP in your work or hobbies, we’d like to hear about them. If you have found a new and interesting way to leverage OpenVSP to integrate into other tools or to streamline your processes, let us know. Because the event is now fully public and open, there is no need for registration! Just follow the links!

Hi Brandon,

Thank you so much for doing the OpenVSP Workshop as a virtual workshop again this year. I thought that last year was fantastic and I look forward to this year's workshop too. For my own situation I would love it if the workshop was virtual every year but I understand that it is a poor substitute for meeting face to face for a lot of the community.
