Say I had aerodynamic data from a very thick surface within a CFD solver.  I've tried before to run this thick surface alongside some conventional surfaces within VSPAERO but the results either don't work or they aren't valid.  OpenVSP is great in that you can iterate on a design and quickly get some accuracy from the solver.

My question is if there is a simple way to add a bias to aerodynamic output data within the Results Manger of OpenVSP?  I found the equation editor video before (I'm having trouble finding it again) but that seems to only be for the geometries of all bodies and is independent of the solver results.

I know that I can use Python/Excel/Matlab to plot and do whatever but doing that when I'm iterating on the design is kind of inefficient :/

Thanks for your help team!

Not in the results manager, if I understand your question.
Perhaps it would be better if you specified what kind of aerodynamic data you wanted to correct.

Its more so I'd like to just add in existing polar data to CL_tot or Cmy_tot data (that I would just type in from an external source) to the existing calculated data and have the total plot alongside the calculated data.  Is there a simple way to do that?

No.

The plots in the OpenVSP Results Manager are meant as a quick sanity check for your analysis.

In my experience, looking at results graphically is one of the best ways to build confidence in the results.  Also in my experience, people don't do that unless it is very easy and convenient.  Consequently, we built in some simple plotting capability that automatically pops up.  This forces users to look at the results at least a little -- and it takes away any excuse they have for not looking at the results.

That said, it is not a full data processing tool or post-processing tool.  It does not produce beautiful publication ready plots.  It does not provide lots of options for manipulating the formatting of the plots.  It does not allow you to manipulate the data.

It is just a quick tool for sanity checking results.
