I have been designing a couple of planes for some time. But now I would now like to analyze them using ANSYS fluent or something similar. The problem is whenever I export the model, the generated model in CAD software shows some inconsistencies with the model, which is due to the cambered airfoils used. The tail section uses symmetrical ones and don't show any problem. Now, is there any workaround for this, cause I cannot proceed with the project.
Its mainly the geometry problem. I want to export the model, so that I can use it in ANSYS, which supports .stp, however when exported, for example the wing which uses multiple cambered airfoil sections, plus the taper ratio, the final geometry is obtained. But now if I export that as .stp format, the cad software read it as several surfaces connected i.e. The wing upper surface is not made up of one but multiple "sheets" and some have gaps in it, which make it difficult to mesh in other software.
I used catia to open the .stp files, whereas ANSYS just doesn't load it.
