Hi Rob,

My coworkers and I use VSP quite a bit and we have an idea for an improvement to wing conformal components when making wing fuel tanks. Perhaps there is already a solution for this and we just aren't seeing it but it would be nice to have the ability to control both the root chord length and tip chord length of the conformal component. Right now it seems like it is only possible to trim the overall chord length. We ran into a case where we have a swept wing with an unswept fuel tank near the wing root and the ability to control both the tip chord and root chord of the conformal piece would be great, if that's possible!

Thanks!

I understand your need -- but unfortunately, it would take a great deal of work.

When we trim the conformal components, we rely on the fact that it is
easy to trim a Bezier surface along a constant U or V curve. Notice
that the trim 'follows' a kink in the middle of a wing.

Trimming along arbitrary lines would take a substantially more complex
capability than we immediately have available.

No problem, I can imagine how complex the code for the conformal components must be.

Thanks for the response
