Hi everyone,

I’m new to OpenVSP and I’m trying to model a ground-effect vehicle for later aerodynamic analysis and design work.

I’ve found some free online models, but many seem to be built as one solid mesh/object. Since I want to modify the design and learn how the vehicle should be structured in OpenVSP, those mesh models are hard for me to use.

Does anyone have, or know of, an OpenVSP-native ground-effect vehicle model that could be used as an reference with separate editable components? I’m especially interested in a Lippisch-style WIG design, but any similar editable reference would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you tried making a model?

The whole point of OpenVSP is that it should be easy to make a model, give it a go.

In my experience, other people's models are seldom suitable for whatever purpose someone has in mind.
