I'm trying to use VSP and VSPAero to calculate/estimate the distortion pattern that a pusher propeller would see installed on the back of an airframe. Is there any easy way using VSPAero to query the velocity of the flowfield at a point in space? Obviously the information exists somewhere in there, and from scrolling through the source code it even seems like there are built in functions that could query the velocity field, but there didn't seem to be an easy way to pass that information outside to the user.

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated!

For the record, if anyone else is trying to do this. At the bottom of the .vspaero file, include:

NumberofSurveyPoints = n
1    x1    y1    z1
2    x2    y2    z2
3    x3    y3    z3
4    x4    y4    z4
...
n    xn    yn    zn

And it will output a file with the .svy extension, that includes x,y,z and the corresponding u,v,w velocity components.

Thanks for reporting this back -- I'm not sure if I actually remember that being in there.
