Hi,

I'm quite new using OpenVSP and VSPAero, and I would like to model a plain flap for a future mesh for CFD. I know that there is a control group function in VSPAero but it seems that it doesn't change the geometry indeed, as it takes it into account when VLM is calculated only.

How can I model a flap? The wing is quite simple, from a UAV, a rectangular wing without any twist and AR approximately 10.

Thanks,

Agustin

Hi Agustin,

If you want to model the flap for use later in CFD, one way you can do it is as shown in this video, from 9:40 onwards.

I made a simple example, see attached.

With this method you can use the XForm tab on the flap to set it to the desired position and deflection/rotation.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Grant.
