Hi everyone,

Here are step-by-step instructions for building a native OpenVSP 3.51.3 RPM for AlmaLinux 10 / RHEL 10 using rpmbuild and mock.

1. Clone the OpenVSP repository:

git clone https://github.com/OpenVSP/OpenVSP.git

2. Create the source tarball:

mkdir -p ~/rpmbuild/{BUILD,RPMS,SOURCES,SPECS,SRPMS}

ln -s OpenVSP openvsp-3.51.3

tar -czf ~/rpmbuild/SOURCES/openvsp-3.51.3.tgz ./openvsp-3.51.3/*

3. Build the Source RPM (SRPM):

cp /path/to/openvsp.spec ~/rpmbuild/SPECS/

rpmbuild -bs ~/rpmbuild/SPECS/openvsp.spec

4. Build the binary RPM inside a clean Mock container:

Note: The --enablerepo=crb flag ensures CodeReady Linux Builder dependencies (like glm-devel and glew-devel) resolve correctly on EL10.

nohup mock --enable-network --enablerepo=crb --verbose --clean \ -r alma+epel-10-x86_64 \ --rebuild ~/rpmbuild/SRPMS/openvsp-3.51.3-11.el10.src.rpm &

5. Monitor the build log (Press Ctrl+C once complete):

tail -f /var/lib/mock/alma+epel-10-x86_64/result/build.log

6. Install the resulting RPM:

sudo dnf install /var/lib/mock/alma+epel-10-x86_64/result/openvsp-3.51.3-11.el10.x86_64.rpm

7. Verify the installation:

# Launch OpenVSP from PATH

vsp

Tip: You can also launch OpenVSP from your desktop environment's application menu
