Hello everyone,

my apologies in case this topic was already discussed.
If not:
I'm having trouble with the determination of wetted area, either with the Comp Geom tool and paraside drag tool.
Aware the fact that could be some  trouble with interaction among structure, I did it with a single geometry: just clicking on the wing and use the wing automatically generate, with a reference area of 45 square ft ( or unit).
With both tool   Comp Geom or paraside drag the result of wetted area is  282967.971

Anybody has the same problem? Someone could try to see if has the same problem?
Thanks
                                                                                     Flavio Olivieri

Can you please post the file that you're seeing this with?  Including exact instructions of how you get there?

I suspect you have an old MeshGeom in the model -- when CompGeom runs a second time, it has multiple overlapping geometries which may be messing things up.

Hello,
Thanks for your answer, here the file. Yes on this one there is already a mesh. I saw that in Comp Geom if there is more than one mash there is more than one raw, so I don't think the problem could be that.
if you want cancel the mash and you'll get the same result

Thanks again

Sorry for this so many message

on the .txt there is a warning about:
    WARNING: 1 open meshes merged
                Merged: WingGeom

Anyway I did another test with tube: lenght 1 diameter 1 and the wetted area have no sense.
All file attached below

OK,

It looks like I messed something up in 3.50.0 -- it is fine in prior versions.  I will try to get this fixed soon.

In 3.50.0, you can now access CompGeom functionality through the Geometry Analysis UI.  This problem does not persist there.
