VSP Team,

I would like to at least approximate some loss of lift due to fuselage interaction in a low wing configuration. Is there any good way to do this in VSP? Currently I am just adding a small break in the wing at the centerline which causes some lift loss.

Thanks,

- Daniel

To be clear, I am not talking interference effects, but rather the change in lift distribution across the span due to the wing going through the fuselage.

While I haven't tried this in a long time, you can set a root section to a symmetrical airfoil and link the incidence and twist to the VSPAERO alpha and keep some small angle of attack at the root.  Alternatively, or maybe even in combination, you could try using a short root chord.  You'll have to experiment a bit.

This seems to work ok. Thanks for the suggestion.

In the case that I want to run a sweep, one thing that is giving me trouble is how to link the the current Alpha to the incidence/twist? I only see options for AlphaStart, AlphaEnd, AlphaNpts under the VSPAEROSettings dropdown.
