Hi Team,

Here is the POC application of Ionic Cordova application with OpenVidu 2.6.0 https://github.com/krish-dev/openvidu-ionic

I have documented each and every tweaking that makes possible to support WebRTC with OpenVidu in iOS & Android platform. I did total 4 modifications in OpenVidu Browser project and I'm sure that modification not done in a good way. You guys are the best person to understand that the modifications have another impact or not. So, here is the note for you guys https://github.com/krish-dev/openvidu-ionic#note-for-openvidu-team

That's awesome!!

Thank you for such detailed instructions. We will integrate openvidu-browser customizations in our repository and we will improve our ionic tutorial with iOS support thanks to your work.

Thank you for sharing!

I'm curious that how is your Ionic iOS integration going? :)

Slowly... ;)

We have started with NativeScript, as we think it will overcome limitations of iOS webrtc plugin in ionic.

I have seen you guys posted on twitter about Mac Safari & iOS ionic support. When we can expect an ionic ios demo source code and updated openvidu browser lib? Are you using iosrtc plugin or it supports natively with WKWebView. If you are using iosrtc then how you overlay the HTML element like a button upon the video stream?

We plan to publish a new OpenVidu release next week with a working ionic iOS tutorial.

Ionic iOS tutorial is based on iosrtc cordova plugin. After several tweeks (or hacks) we have a functional app.

Sadly, no html elements can be placed over the video as this is an iosrtc limitation.

Safari based WebView doesn't support WebRTC for now.

To overcome this limitations, we are going to work on NativeScript 5 tutorials using official WebRTC plugin.

Please stay tuned.

Regards

In fact you can overlay elements on top of video elements. It has been difficult, but finally we got it working. Everything will be explained in openvidu-ionic tutorial next release.
