Hi all... and thanks... no really... thanks.

This can be either a question or suggestion if I have missed in the docs how to do this... and since it came from a story, I will tell it in a story...

So...

I made a fancy flow with the timer at the top layer... spent time doing things down below the two menus... had it the way I wanted it and then went in to make a change... only to find the defaults for the timer were reset in the interface to 9AM to 5PM for all days... ( the db was still as I had set at that point ) if I did not change them back ( which is a pretty big pain ) it would update the db with the new wrong times... not good for someone that did not know it was happening... I just happened to catch it...

SO THIS GOT ME THINKING

would it not be a nice feature that I could setup flows that could include other flows... so say I setup a timer flow and that fronts calls... then the on / off actions for the timer could just be other flows.. that way the problem in the timer code would not have as negative an effect on the rest of the flows that work because I would setup the timer and never need to go back into that flow unless I needed to change the hours or actions of just the timer chunk of my flow...

ALSO

it would allow me to re-use any complex or common flows I may have ...

INTERFACE THOUGHTS

If I knew or had the time to grok it myself, I would just create an "applet" on the right side menu where I could drag and drop it and it would just give me a drop-down of the other flows...

IN CASE I AM STUPID

if this already exists, I would appreciate someone pointing me towards the docs...

look forward to your thoughts and again, thanks

matt

Hi Matt,

You're right that this functionality doesn't exist yet but I think it's a great idea.  I think an applet that did that would be awesome to have and probably not require very much work.  After all, on the TwiML side you would just be issuing a Redirect to the start of the right flow.

The only downside would be if somebody created a flow with a loop in it.  Maybe it should have a disclaimer in the UI.

I can't wait to see what you come up with!
