Open Vanilla Keeps crashing my Finder (OS X Tiger)

My system is using Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11. Open Vanilla version
0.8.0.1.

Today, after I installed the logitech control center (driver for my
trackball) and the new Mac system update, I restarted my Mac, and the
Vanilla acted weired.

If I change my input method from Canadian English into Open Vanilla,
the following things happened:
1. In Text Edit, input method changed, and only English character
shows up.
2. In Firefox (Version 2.0.0.11), once I change the input method, my
firefox crashes)
3. If I change the input method in Finder, then my finder keeps
crashing and relaunches.

I tried re-install the Open Vanilla and install it again, but same
thing happens.I grab some information from the console, and I hope it
will provide some clues on this matter.

Thanks in advance to whoever share your valuable time and help me
resolve this issue.

Well, to know about more detail of this problem, we would like to know which Input Method module did you use in the last time. Was that the UIM module? According to the log, the most doubtful part is as following:

It looks like that the UIM.framework of MacUIM, the Japanese Input Method, was corrupt or missing, and it makes the OpenVanilla UIM module unable to load required data or libraries. I think we need to have a try to know about what happened to both MacUIM and OpenVailla, and I am not sure if re-install MacUIM may help.

Hello,

I suspect it's Logitech's problem, because we've received some reports
on this. Try uninstalling Logitech's driver first and see if the
problem persists. Let us know if it does.

我想應該是羅技新版的驅動程式 (vesion 2.4.0) 造成的問題。
現在我的香草已經可以正常運作了！ 謝謝你們的幫忙！

此外，我安裝手上有的舊版羅技驅動程式 (version 2.2.2) ，和香草並不會有衝突。

以下這段安裝過程僅供參考：Logitech 2.4.0 沒有提供官方反安裝程式。所以我是先把 Logitech System
Preference Pane 移除。再安裝手頭上有的 2.2.2 版本，並重開機。 重開機之後，利用 2.2.2 版有的移除程式，把羅技驅動
程式移除。接下來，把香草安裝好，再重新安裝版本 2.2.2，電腦就恢復正常了！

如果有人需要 Logitech Control Center 2.2.2 的話，請和我說一生，我再寄出去。

My friend has exact the same problem:
iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz + OS X 10.4.11 + OV 0.8 + Logitech 2.4.0

Use the uninstaller in 2.2.2 to remove the Logitech Control Center may
stop the crazy Finder behavior.
At this moment, OV doesn't work.
After reinstall OV 0.8, the Finder starts to blink again!

So on my friend's system,
both LCC and OV must be removed completely to keep OS X working
properly.

嘿 給同時安裝羅技驅動程式2.4.0和香草輸入法造成finder不斷登出登入的人
這是我找到的方法 可以正常使用香草輸入法!

按照小鵝提供的2.2.2版本 把羅技驅動程式和center刪除掉
把香草輸入法也取消 在input那個選單那裡

然後finder就穩定下來 這時使用finder搜尋logitech 會在library那個資料夾找到一個logitech的資料夾
那個資料夾裡面會有一個檔案 刪除他 重開機在刪除一次 然後安裝香草輸入法 就可以正常使用了!

現在我正使用香草輸入法0.8版打這篇文章 真是太開心了

to who has trouble after installing logitech and openvanilla makes
finder unstable:
1. don't select openvanilla in the input manu
2. use logitech control center 2.2.2 to uninstall the program and
driver from your mac
now your finder will not crash anymore, but you can not use
openvanilla still
3. search "logitech" in finder, you will find a folder
called :logitech, which is in "library"
4. delete it, you need to empty the trash too
5. after you restart the system you can install the latest version of
openvanilla and it works properly.

at least i can use it now, but i don't use logitech anymore
if any problem, send mail to me.
