Hello all,

jbar made a new post about OpenUDC 0.3, you can access in the new blog
: http://www.openudc.org with an ogg french podcast about it.

Pierro finished a full github version of detailed OpenUDC reduced
concepts : http://project.openudc.org (we saved rev22 graphs, we need
to put in, you could commit).

For those who cannot contribute directly you can now support OpenUDC
development thru gittip (see link in the blog) with a weekly donation.
gittip differ from flattr since the owner is supported himself only
thru gittip donnation, without being concerned by other users
supports. gittip has only one default is that it cannot use a free
money since there is not free money at the moment.

gittip is not connected with OpenUDC github at the moment, it's
connected right now to the OpenUDC twitter account
https://twitter.com/Open_UDC you can check (and follow if you use
twitter).

Happy coding

Galuel

Thanks for the news !

Here is the direct link for gittip :
https://www.gittip.com/OpenUDC/. I don't see it on the blog.

Hope that some people who gained money with bitcoin will now use it to support a free monetary system as open udc :).

I'll try to get more in contact with the gittip community to help them support and use a free monetary system inside their platform.

A few comments for the installation procedure http://project.openudc.org/install_en.php

Run as root

sudo make install
The sudo part is what makes it run as root, so no need to become root to execute this line. It can be confusing.

Install OpenUDC Node (ludd)

...
make install
Here it is the opposite: it misses sudo, otherwise should be run as root.

Check that /usr/local/var/ludd is created (show hidden file to see it)

ls -a /usr/local/var/ludd
In my case it is in /usr/local/share/ludd (Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS)

I had an issue when creating my udid2 key, where permission was denied to gpg to change the ~/.gnupg folder. It is not so hard to find solutions on the Web, but if it happen often it could be nice to have a note about it. I have used these commands to fix it:

sudo chown -R myLogin:myLogin ~/.gnupg

Also I made the procedure from the open-udc project (clone the git repo + init & update the submodules and make the procedure in them). Excepted these few issues, I was able to go until the end.

Thank you for that, it helps me.
Now, what should I enter when it's asked "External host name or addr
[Yogo-ordi] ?" ?

see file attached.

Thanks,

I let the default stuff, because I understood it is the system which should run the node (which is your local system a priori). I do not know because it is not specified but for me it works.
