We have just released a new version of the synthetic tree as well as some new website features:
I. Synthetic tree v6.1: includes 155 new input trees and >4100 new phylogeny tips; browse at
https://tree.opentreeoflife.org
; release notes at
https://tree.opentreeoflife.org/about/synthesis-release/v6.1
II. Support and conflict: for each node in the synthetic tree, we now show input trees that corroborate the shown relationships as well as those that conflict. See, for example,
https://tree.opentreeoflife.org/opentree/opentree6.1@mrcaott2ott8384/Vitales--rosids
III. Adding new taxa to the taxonomy: Now, when curating trees, you can add unmapped labels to the Open Tree Taxonomy. See
https://github.com/OpenTreeOfLife/opentree/wiki/Adding-tips-from-trees-to-the-taxonomy
for documentation.
As always, feedback on the tree or new features always welcome!
Karen
