Hi all,

Is there a way to know how many studies and how many trees are
available in the curator interface?

Thanks!

We don't provide that info in the webapp (although we probably should!). There are at least three ways to get that info, though:

1. A python script in peyotl that counts studies + trees (requires installation and setup of peyotl library):

https://github.com/OpenTreeOfLife/peyotl/blob/master/examples/phylesystem/count_trees.py

2. Using the find_studies and find_trees API calls:

https://github.com/OpenTreeOfLife/opentree/wiki/Open-Tree-of-Life-APIs#studies

3. Using grep on a clone of the phylesystem-1 repo:

https://github.com/OpenTreeOfLife/phylesystem-1

If you really just want to know the answer to this question right now, here is the output of that peyotl script:

3399 = # studies
152 = # studies without any trees
7755 = # trees total
61 = maximum # trees in any study (pg_2607)

Cheers,
Karen
