We have a new version of the synthetic tree and an easier way to add trees to synthesis.

== New synthesis tree ==

We have just released version 8.0 of the Open Tree of Life:

https://tree.opentreeoflife.org/opentree/argus/opentree8.0@ott93302

This includes ~100 new input trees, mostly in Cnidaria (thanks to a clade workshop at the Field Museum) and Aves (thanks to Joseph and Ning in the Smith lab). You can see details and browse the release notes here:

== Easier additions of trees to synthesis ==

The other major new feature is an easier way to add trees to synthesis. Now, directly from the tree list, you can click a single 'Include' button to queue a (sufficiently curated) tree for the next round of synthesis. We hope that this will more quickly get new submitted trees into the synthetic tree.
