communication changes

Hello opentree mailing list subscribers,

We've made some changes to our communication channels that you might want to know about.

* we have a new public chat channel on Gitter [1]

* we won't be using the opentree-software list much anymore, as most of the dev-related chatter is happening on Gitter. Subscribers to the software list might want to join the general opentreeoflife mailing list instead [2].

* we've created an announcements list [3] for new releases, new software features, changes to APIs, etc. This list will be low-traffic and will allow posts by admins only.

These changes will be reflected on our Contact page the next time we re-deploy.
