date format

I'd like to put in another plea for everyone to use ISO 8601 whenever writing a date that might possibly be machine readable or machine sorted, such as in a file name.

E.g. 20151106 or 2015-11-06 instead of 06112015 or 06-11-2015.

Obviously in user-visible locations that could be 6 November 2015 or November 6, 2015 or The Day After Guy Fawkes Day, 2015.
