Seems to be a hardware problem, maybe a broken fan. I've been expecting this to happen. This machine was surplus and is almost ten years old, so it doesn't owe us anything. We could switch to one of the two other surplus machines I have, but I think what I'll do is replace it with a new EC2 host so it's like all the other open tree hosts.

The disadvantage of EC2 is much lower bandwidth than devapi's current location, which will mean a slower debugging cycle for things like neo4j database replacement. I'll see what I can do in the EC2 setup to get better bandwidth.

I've been doing backups of selected directories, so let's hope I have everything that's needed to recreate it. The disk seems to be fine so if there's something we really need I can pull it out and read it on another computer.

I'll try to get this going tonight or tomorrow morning. Sorry for the inconvenience.

devapi.opentreeoflife.org and files.opentreeoflife.org appear to be operational again in their reincarnations. Let me know if you notice anything missing or awry.
