Dear OpenTracing community,
TL;DR: send me your ideas for internship tasks for the next Outreachy
program!
With the sponsorship from the CNCF, the OpenTracing project
participates in the Outreachy program together with the Jaeger project,
under the program organization "CNCF Tracing".

The current cycle is coming to its end and it's time to start thinking
about the next one. I'd really appreciate your help, even if it's only
for 5 minutes in sending in your thoughts and ideas.
Is there a sufficiently big task you wish we had and that an intern
could work on? Perhaps instrumenting some framework/stack/...? Or
working on some integration with other projects? Some help in doing a
research for that cool idea you had but couldn't start digging into
yet?
Whatever you can think of, either just create an issue against the
relevant repository under the opentracing or opentracing-contrib GitHub
organizations adding the label "outreachy", or send it directly to me.
Another items you can help with is labeling easy/quick items with the
same label (outreachy). Those tasks will then be used by prospective
interns during the selection phase.
If you are interested in being a mentor and have about 4 hours per
week, let me know as well. Mentoring is a great experience, you won't
regret!
Similarly, I'm also looking for volunteers to help me coordinate the
program. You'd be my backup and you probably won't even spend 1h per
week. If you want to be the main coordinator instead, this is also
possible :)
And finally, I'd like to send a shout out to Prakriti Bansal, our
intern who helped in the documentation front for the past months and to
Julie Stickler, her mentor. Thanks!
- Juca.
