I am still fairly new to Opentoonz and have been experiencing multiple issues lately.  It is extremely aggravating because the time I carve out for animating now just turns into troubleshooting. I am using an iMac running MacOS Big Sur 11.2(ish) and using an XP-Pen Artist 12.  Here are the issues:

-When I first go to draw: I can see the brush (or shape) cursor and it moves with my pen, but no lines are drawn when pressure is added.  Eventually, the lines show up, but they are way off to the side. This is also happens if I am trying to draw with the mouse.  So I do not think it is my drawing tablet. Sometimes this resolves itself...most of the time it doesn't.

- If I am able to draw, it will work fine for awhile then the scale of the picture will change and it will become smaller and moves off to the side.  It will also lose color.

- The Preview window does not work.

The program is awesome when it is working correctly and the features are amazing. It is just growing tiresome with all the troubleshooting.

Am I missing an update?
Do others have the same issues?
Is this par for the course when using an open sourced software?
Is it better to purchase a program? Which one?

Any advice or tips is much appreciated.

Thank you!

It sounds like your graphics card driver needs updating.
Also if you make sure your screens are all the same resolution or make your screen tablet the main monitor (if you have a screen tablet).
I'm sure it's something that we can get you past.

Darren- I do have a screen tablet.  The drivers are up to date on both the tablet and the graphics card and I have the resolution matched.  I also tried it with other resolutions, but it still has the same issues.  It will only identify about one of every 3 strokes of the brush, using the tablet or the mouse. And, if I switch columns sometimes it moves the drawings way off to the side.

Is there another version of OpenToonz I should be using for Mac? Morevna?

Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated!!

Darren- thank you for the guidance!  I changed the settings to my computers display to the Built-in Retina Display instead of my screen tablet, and it is working now.  Thank you, I appreciate your help and your course on UDEMY is awesome!!

Does anyone remember more details for how this was fixed? I'm having the same issue, at least with the pen strokes being delayed and moved away. It's in Tahoma2D not Opentoonz, but I know they're similar. I figure the same fix could be used. I'm running Big Sur (11.5.2) and my display tablet is a Wacom One. This is only the 3rd person I've come across with this problem (myself included) but you're the only one who got it resolved.
