i f i want to draw a vector line w/ brush polyline etc... and then taper one of its ends my best idea would be to use the pump tool.

but w this tool

1) is it possible to set its zone of influence? like if i just want to taper  a little piece of a line i cant really do that.

2) it turns what were control points with connected arching handles (not sure what term for this is but like when the handles of a control point move in unison to create a smooth curve) into control points with handles tahat move independently...resulting in a very angular look.

I would rather have no control over varying thickness in a line than have go back into every line and readjust the handles that i have already set.  am i missing somthing or is this tool broken

The Size parameter allows you to set the area of influence of the tool.

Ok i was being a little short sighted ...i was working on a pretty small shape  (the smaller cure in the attached video)  but seeing as how this is vector i would expect the size to act more a s a percentage rather than an absolute.  building on that...what does one do when they want fine control on smaller shapes?

you can also see another problem with this tool and perhaps this is part of a larger problem with control points acting strangely?  you can see when i expand and contract the line several times the edges become very jagged..which is not something further use of the tool can fix...essentially the line is ruined and must either be redone point by point or started from scratch.  I expect this issue is due to the fact that it is doing something like inflating the thickness around the targeted control points...instead of the the line thickness itself having its own vector line and control points..... which would most likely result in finer and smoother control.  ...something like the pencil line editor in toonboom would be so cool to have in opentoonz

In the first case, it is mentioned in other topics of the forum about the pump tool and the impossibility to choose his area with more precision, from a certain level.

The second case, seems new, I do not remember having seen the tool react like that in previous versions. Imo, you should directly open a topic on github
