Confusion in layers

Hi everyone, I'm a new user of OpenToonz, and an issue I keep seeing is that whenever I try to paste an image, it disappears. I've checked the layers, but they just show the layer in which what I inserted is empty.

Please help with this.

You haven't mentioned where the image was copied from. Did you use the selection tool to highlight part of an image, then copy? Or did you copy from a different program?

If you could add some more details it would help us to help you.
Include the level types that you copying from/to.
