It just closes when it's about to load up.

Then this shows up (OpenToonz_1.0.exe has stopped working)

Anyone else having this problem? Can someone help me, please. :)

I had the same and when debug found that problem is with ff_vfw.dll (ffdshow)
You can found it in C:\Windows\System32
When deleted or renamed in my case - ffdshow.dll.off
Open Toonz now working fine :)

Worked for me as well, thanks!

Although I also had another Logitech codec installed, which also caused a crash. So it might be worth using a debugger to see which file might causing it, if ff_vfw.dll is not present on the system and the same symptoms are experienced.

Thanks!  This booted right up for me. :)

I downloaded this last night, had it crash, and figured if I slept on it, it'd be figured out.

Running as Administrator worked for me. I did a right-click on the desktop icon. Properties | Advanced... | Run as administrator

I have the same problem... I tried searching for ff_vfw.dll and the logitech codec files, and I don't seem to have any of them. Running as administrator worked for once, but now I have the same issue. Is there a way to know what is causing the problem.

I figured out my problem. OpenToonz sometimes crashes when using multiple monitors, which is really annoying. How am I supposed to use my Cintiq with it?? I only have a Cintiq 13hd, so I cannot use it as my main display. I use it for drawing only.

UPDATE

The only workaround for the multiple monitor issue is to unplug all monitors except the main one, run the program, and then plug the monitors back. OpenToonz crashes from multiple monitors on startup only. At least this is my experience until now.

I had the same problem as you Pat Lee, but for me the cause seemed to be that I had multiple monitors as someone mentioned before.

I got the program working when I first set my display settings to only have one monitor. Then I opened Opentoonz and fixed the monitors so I can use my Cintiq again.

1. Right click on desktop select "Display settings"
2. Set the Multiple displays option to 'show only on X' (Whichever is your main monitor)
3. Then apply
4. Start opentoonz and go change the multiple displays option back to 'extend these displays'

Hope it works!

"C:\Windows\System32\lvcod64.dll" removal worked. Its not a folder by the way its at the bottom of the list.
