impossible to download FFmpeg on the adress www.ffmpeg.org

Hi, I'm a mac user and I just can't export my animation. And the page www.ffmpeg.org is just not responding. What is the solution ?

Yeah, the site certainly won't load up at present. No idea why, but when I looked for a mirror, this site at Sourceforge came right up.

Now, I DON'T know if this is the SAME as at ffmpeg.org, so it would be best for someone more knowledgeable to comment on that BEFORE you try it. Just in case it might not be compatible with OpenToonz.

But if someone with more experience and knowledge can confirm it as being the same, then that would be great while ffmpeg.org is currently down. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait for ffmpeg.org to come back.

Isn't ffmpeg just for the fast/quick render? Can you still render normally in like an avi or similar video format without it?

I'm gonna try the Soundforge FFmpeg.

But... no avi or mov in the output menu... (See the capture)

I'm a little in distress cause OpenToonz seem powerfull enough for me. But the export is a nightmare for the moment...

Ok, yeah, I wasn't sure if it would. It might only be in development or something.

Opentoonz IS a powerful freeware. I'm not nearly as well-versed in it as others here are though. There were some export formats that I'm not familiar with in your screenshot. Maybe those are Mac-specific? The Exr, Nol, Rgb and Sgi, are formats I'm not familiar with.

If there are any formats in that list that you are also unfamiliar with, maybe look them up and maybe one might be a video output?
I run a PC so I'm afraid I wouldn't know mac-specific formats and functions.

The FFmpeg site is still down it seems. Maybe someone with a website of their own could temporarily upload their copy of the FFMPEG file for download until the actual site is back up?

I don't have a site, so I can't do it. I've gotta get to bed. But hopefully someone else will be able to help you in these "overnight" hours.

MP4 is mpeg

As for .mov on a Mac... I'm not sure.

Perhaps a Mac user will join in and assist.

Actually... if you use this program you can convert to just about any image (sequence) or video format.

Just render out to  an appropriate format from Opentoonz and use DuMe (or other similar program)
 to convert to the desired format (.mov, .mpeg, .apng, etc)

I have afeeling most will recommend Krita (although I personally do a lot of size changing, painting and color adjustments right in Opentoonz.

There's no way to do mov export from OT on a mac unfortunately. Which is ironic. However, mov export has been added in OT's fork Tahoma2D - and ffmpeg is included by default. Still no avi though.
