Hello!  I am new to Open Toonz, but hope to resolve an issue quickly.  When I try to run Open Toonz, it immediately crashes and says it has stopped working.  In the event log is the following entry:

Faulting application name: OpenToonz_1.1.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x57a8373c
Faulting module name: MSVCR120.dll, version: 12.0.21005.1, time stamp: 0x524f83ff

Faulting application start time: 0x01d20de426f06b63
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\OpenToonz 1.1\OpenToonz_1.1.exe

I have tried updating video drivers, changing resolution, trying a different computer (at first I tried a Core 2 Duo processor, then tried it on an i3).  Both computers have 4GB RAM and plenty (Gigs) of free space.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Erin:

Try downloading the latest OpenToonz Nightly Build from this address.  Install it and see if it now works:

Do you have Quicktime installed?

I'm also having the same problem with missing dlls, even though I have them.  Are we supposed to have Quicktime installed? or do we uninstall it?

For now, if you go into your OpenToonz folder in your Program Files, then go into the srv folder.  Rename t32bitsrv.exe to something else (t32bitsrv.exe.old), OpenToonz will open.

Renaming the t32bitsrv.exe file works great.  The nightly builds are up and running.

I wonder if there isn't a way to add info like this to an install readme.txt file (if for nothing else perhaps for the nightlies).
I had used the fix before but forgotten.

Would a read the readme.txt.
Okay, probably not.  ;)

I deleted it at first, then restored it and renamed it  and now it tells me that tnzext.dll is missing.

(Update) I looked around the net to see what was causing this along with error 0xc0000906, and it turned out that my antivirus was the cause of it, combined with the t32bitsrv. I had the antivirus on silent gaming mode and it was sandboxing the program, I turned it on, reinstalled it, and it is now back to normal. I ended up renaming the t32bitsrv again and now it works like a charm. Thank you all for reminding people to rename the t32bitsrv to something else.

I am revisiting this issue because the teacher found that the software he is using instead of OpenToonz has limitations and would like to see if we can get this to work.  I am back to square one, though I am no longer getting the dll errors.  OpenToonz just crashes with the following error in the event log:

Faulting application name: OpenToonz_1.1.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5839196d
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.DLL, version: 10.0.10586.9, time stamp: 0x5642c48d
Exception code: 0x40000015
Fault offset: 0x000000000006990f
Faulting process id: 0xef8
Faulting application start time: 0x01d2759d6c9074ce
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\OpenToonz 1.1\OpenToonz_1.1.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\ucrtbase.DLL
Report Id: ac35d86e-e190-11e6-88d2-082e5f2c07c1

I have tried putting OpenToonz as an exception in the anti-virus and have disabled UAC.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?
