I've unsuccessfully searched Google and this group for info regarding filling a shape with a texture. I already tried filling with texture, but OpenToonz replaces the desired texture with a solid color of the average of the texture. This image shows the approximate result I'm going for. I was considering drawing what I want in GIMP and importing it, but that sounds like overkill, right?

You may have run up against a scaling bug.
My initial testing shows that when I adjust the scaling in the Settings panel for the texture it does scale but not in any meaningful way.
That would/could be producing the 'averaging' you are seeing if your textures are being tiled and scaled inappropriately.

Unfortunately there is a known bug where the texture settings do not update. For now, any adjustments to scale need to be done out of OT.

Something else to keep in mind is that textures only apply to vector levels. Using a texture fill on a toonz raster level also has the result you describe.

Thanks for the confirmation @Jane Eyre.

I note a workaround that might do in a pinch... although... once the problem gets fixed then the workaround might 'revert' to working again and therefore mess up the texture's scale.
The workaround is:

Draw the vector shape to the size of the texture and then scale the shape up.
The texture will scale with the shape.
You'll probably have to zoom in quite a bit depending on the size/resolution of your texture image.

Adjusting the scale of the texture/image outside of OT is probably the better workaround but in a pinch drawing to size of texture and then scaling up should work.
