I know this has been somewhat addressed before..because I read some posts on it. Let me start by saying that whenever I draw on a raster level the quality of the pencil stroke/mark is pretty smooth and resembles somewhat what it's paper counterpart looks like...once I convert to toonz raster level it turns to...well crap..

I've played with the conversion settings, antialiasing you name it...it just doesn't cut it. The toonz raster lines look really blocky, edgy and just very unaesthetic...for me the results should look really close to hand drawn lines as much as possible.

I understand that toonz raster is that way because it identifies those lines in such a way that it facilitates coloring etc. But is there something we can do about this or is something being done...

Has anyone encountered this problem, is this something we all want, am I doing something wrong, or am I delusional.

Also same for vectors, they really are not smooth either, I haven't tried to see the raster to vector conversion results but whenever I try to draw directly in vector I do a really smooth stroke and it turns into a wavy line with awkward bends...

im sorry for complaining like a brat...i have the utmost appreciation for the people working/contributing to this software and having it for free in the first place. My dreams to animate are a reality because of you.

I don’t use Toonz Raster levels much myself, so I’ll let someone else respond about that. However I don’t have an issue with drawing vector lines. The accuracy setting should control how accurate your line is. I do think there have been some brush display fixes since the last release of OpenToonz so you might want to try the nightly build: https://github.com/opentoonz/opentoonz/releases/tag/nightly
