I selected the previous image that I drew and tried the ol' ctrl+c then ctrl+v onto the next frame but that doesn't seem to work. I'm assuming that there has to be a copy+paste function, right?

Within the 'inknpaint' pane, in the Level Strip window, you can right-click to reveal a menu, select Duplicate Image and it will create a new frame with the same information.

When you select copy from the right-click menu, a little tab appears in the frame. You can drag that down through the frames you want to paste that image into. Not the easiest thing to do with a touchpad, though.

How do you tweak/edit the image duplicate without affecting the previous frames?

Make sure you are displaying the level strip alongside the x-sheet.

Open the configuration for the keyboard shortcuts, and assign a key to "Duplicate Drawing" in the Menu Commands-->Cells-->Duplicate Drawing (highlight the entry, and hit a key - I assigned it to the numpad * key).

Select an empty frame in an empty x-sheet column. Start your drawing. Then select the drawing in the level strip. Hit the Duplicate Drawing shortcut key, and use the cursor arrow key down to ensure you are working in the duplicate. Draw. Duplicate, arrow down. Draw. Duplicate, arrow dawn. Draw - ad infinitum, When you are done, select all the frames (or just a selection), and expose them in the x-sheet.
