i know you can set the project root when you install opentoonz but that isn't the point of this post.

on windows without uninstall/install, does anyone know how to change the project root?

i did a quick look in the C:\open*1.0*stuff but didn't see any setting for it. maybe it's a REGEDIT variable/value?

on windows, it's a regedit change. open run dialog. then open regedit. then navigate to regedit directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OpenToonz\OpenToonz\1.0

edit the variable: TOONZPROJECTS

Enter the full path to your new project root.

Restart OpenToonz and you will have a new projectroot.

You can also add multiple project roots into the same regedit variable. The variable is actually a list of paths delimited by ":".

On mac the project root is stored in SystemVar.ini. I don't have a mac to test on tho.

Pages 17,18, and 19. (page 35 overall in the pdf)

Changing the project root only is not advised because it splits your whole data. The best approach is to change the path main root folder.. TOONZROOT
Even better is to change EVERYTHING to the same location and the process follows still the same Path so as to fall within the TOONZROOT folder
