Can I disable gap detection? opentoonz thinks there's a gap because two objects (both closed) are close together

I am drawing in vectors and two objects are close together, although they are discrete and each object has no gaps.  I get the red lines going from one object to another and thus opentoonz will not allow me to fill in one of them.  Suggestions?

If you have Gap Check on and are seeing the connection you can turn it off by unchecking Gap Check in the menu > View > Gap Check.

Also, if we adjust the 'Maximum Gap' slider in the Fill Tool options menu (over on the right) that will adjust the sensitivity of Gap Check.**

**Note:  Adjusting Maximum Gap can cause some issue with backward compatibility in Opentoonz release prior to the introduction of the Maximum Gap slider.

I'm investigating what you have stated concerning the two shapes and the false reporting of gaps.  If you can supply a sample project that displays the problem that will help tremendously.

In my tests the only way I could get two independent shapes to display the gap check line(s) was if I cut the shape and created a gap.

Double check to see if one or both of the shapes don't have open ends.
Keep in mind that just because the ends are at the same location doesn't mean they are joined together.

One way to test if there are any terminations in a shape's line is to use the Tape Tool and hover over the line.  The Tape Tool will display a circular target when it detects the end of a line.

Rodney - I increased the "maximum gap" slider to 10 and it worked fine,  Thanks very much for your help!

Outstanding!  Glad that worked for you.

Aside:  I don't know about your Gap Check lines but the ones I'm seeing are so thin they can barely be seen.

yes, to my liking these lines should be made *way* more visible, to be useful.
