Hello,

I copy paste the issue closed here :) https://github.com/opentoonz/opentoonz/issues/1987

I would like to submit a paste copy command that exists in a lot of software. In some cases we would like to hide lines by copying and pasting these lines in the same place. But this isn't possible in Opentoonz.

However, it is possible to cut paste in the same place. Or to copy paste in the same place but in another level. It would be cool to have this feature without fumbling.

I’m curious, what is the standard behavior in other programs?

Most of the programs I use regularly do paste with an offset so that the user realizes something has been pasted.
The primary programs I use allow the offset to be changed/saved in Preferences/Options.

Here's what "Copy / Paste" looks like in Flash.

Ctrl + V paste the selection into the center of the view, Ctrl + Shift + V paste the selection to the same place as the original.

In Flash, it is also possible to copy while dragging with Ctrl. The command to repeat the last operation (Ctrl+Y) allows to create arrays of inserted elements, which allows to quickly make complex textures and shapes.

@Jane Eyre

For most of the software I used this paste option existed the name may be different depending on the program " Paste in place, special paste, duplicate or others.

In fact many offer several paste options, leaving the choice. Opentoonz already allows some possibilities.

But not the possibility to do it on the same level like you can  find on inkscape, illustrator, flash, cacani, moho about vectors...
Personaly here, I use it mainly to hide lines that I will animate in different ways. But I often work on one level hence this request.

I would benefit from this suggestion daily.

currently merging levels does the trick but in order to save the extra three clicks needed for merge levels, I tend to half-ass overlapping copies. a "paste in place" option makes soooo much sense and would save those precious extra clicks.

@openanim I use Bandicam to record, and https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif to convert avi to gif

i reccomend you to start using "ShareX"

also, i really would like to have an option to paste things on place.

it has a lot of uses in vector workflows, animation workflows and puppet rigging workflows!

sometimes, you need the shape to be in the EXACT same space
