Now, I know I'm not the brightest light out here, so this all may be my own stupidity, but I worked for two hours on something, rendered it, went to the 'files' menu and pressed 'save scene as'. I gave it a name, remembered where it was saved, and lost the entire two hours of work :3

Maybe it's just my own stupidity, but I really like to know how to save something in a folder, and be able to relocate/edit it later on. I tried to re-open the file, but it just gave me a blank space, with the four col I used completely devoid of ANYTHING (which resulted in my screaming in frustration).

Can anyone help me or explain to me what I did wrong?

saving in open toonz is wierd. you have to save scene and save each of your individual levels. (saving scene is basically like saving your configuration of things such as fx and x-sheet. the level is all the individual drawings that toonz is referring to when playing the animation. if you don't save the level then all the drawings disappear.)

if you work with colors and add more of them then you have to save your palette as well.

a lot of people are having trouble with this problem

Welcome to the "Save Issue" club...your work is lost. I think this had to be fixed before anything else.

You must save each component individually for now:
- save each unsaved level
- save each palette you made changes to
- save the scene.

Levels are the "meat" of the animation, the content.
Scenes manage one or more levels, and the animation keys.

A "Save All" option is in the works. Till then, save all the components before quitting.
