There was a stray question mentioned on github that relates to the documentation for the various FX nodes we can add in the Schematic.
The documentation is a bit spotty so perhaps we can get some of that clarified.
I know there are some video tutorials that cover some of the FX and there is also some documentation in Japanese that is maintained in the documents folder in the OpenToonz stuff directory.
For those that cannot read Japanese that won't help a lot.

I'm adding this topic primarily as a place to collect some of the resources for FX.
Welll have to see what we can dig up.

For informaton on setting up basic FX in the Schematic window see the online documentation:

Here is a basic walkthrough of FX usage in the Schematic window:

This FX node isn't too exciting but can be useful.
It provides a node that allows other FX to pass through it.

Some basic information related to it can be found here:

FX documentation in Japanese (these are included with installation in the stuff folder:

Note that some suffixes on the FX name suggests who the primary developer of the FX is.
For instance, the Adjust Exposure FX is named Adjust Exposure Iwa.
That 'Iwa' stands for Shun Iwasawa, the primary developer.

Here then we will start to compile the Japanese documentation and then as it becomes available we can add the various translated documentation.

Edit:  I had forgotten that Peter Lemon has translated these files via Latex.
Those files can be found here:

Examples of what can be found there:

AddIno FX

BlurIno FX

<to be continued... but understand that these are all included with OpenToonz in your stuff folder>

In some cases documentation is hard to find but the usage is fairly self explanatory.
For instance, Body Light FX can be used to lighten (or darken) shapes.

In this example I've created a quick shadow effect by using Darken as an option and then inverting the effect so that rather than effecting the exterior of the shape the FX alters the interior.

Of interest:  This FX gains some capabilities via use of the Swatch Viewer that can be opened at the bottom of the panel.
There we can scroll through the frames of the animation, create keyframes (all at once or individually for each option) and see the results in the preview window.

Disclaimer:  I drew this for the purpose of this example and I in no way want to suggest this is the best or even proper way to use the FX.  Others are encouraged to join in and share what they can come up with!

The Outline FX is fairly self explanatory.
All lines will be adjusted except those lines inside fill areas.
Hence the name 'outline fx'.
