It would be great to see openToonz fix and adopt a Krita brush engine for raster and Vector brushes; Since the settings at the moment in openToonz  are very limited.

Thanks

For vector inking I feel the current options are good enough. I actually think the vector drawing editing tools are really good.

I do agree it would be nice to have an improved bitmap brush engine. Or even bitmap brushes mapped to vectors.

For me it is not really an issue, since I do my inking work in ClipStudio (which has brilliant inking tools) and background work in Krita. The inked drawing in CS I then import in Toonz, convert to vector, and adjust with the built-in tools for best effect.

Just one question @Herbert

At the time you convert your bitmap drawings/background to vector inside Opentoonz, does the "natural" and "traditional" way of the colours blended and mixed on those bitmap layers, will be kept untouched even converted to vector layers?

I do not really understand this process, so would you mind to clarify me a little bit about it?

Thanks

@Adam
If OpenToonz develop a new bitmap brush engine, it will definitively take the place of TVPaint. Would be the most wanted software for animation and painting (even despite Krita is a fabulous colour/paint application, but not so powerful on the animation feature (and imho it will never be a good one unless they are intended to add camera movement and sound)

Hello, everyone!  I have posted a bounty to integrate MyPaint brushes into OpenToonz (for raster levels only). There is a dev who is willing to take this task. Please read more details here - https://morevnaproject.org/2017/01/14/mypaint-brushes-opentoonz-goes-bounty/

It looks like it was fully funded. Thanks to everyone who helped out. Can't wait for the results!
