Hi, does anyone know how I can export my animations as mov or avi files? For some reason, I can only export a sequence of image files.

are you using the 'render' section in the xsheet tab?

In the Mac version of the program, the output settings and render button are under the File tab.

Precisely. I only have the option to render animations as a series of image files.

As far as I can tell, currently the AVI and MOV options are not available on the Mac.
(i.e. the options don't show up in order to be selected)
The workaround would be to render out to an image sequence and them combine them in an external program or utility.
I cannot confirm any of this as I don't have access to a Mac.

But please note:  The v1.01 release of OpenToonz is out for Mac so that may be worth looking at.

I downloaded V.1.0.1, and I have the same problem. Basically, I have a lot of the same problems, but the program doesn't crash as frequently. It's still a bit buggy.

the only format available in the mac version are as image sequence, so you have to import them in a different editing software, let's  hope to have the mov option in the next releases...

MOV (Quicktime) is no longer supported by Apple. They dropped support.

they dropped support for the  quicktime windows version, but I don't think that this is the reason, in this case we should not have the mov option in the win version and not in the mac version where quicktime is still supported. Toonz Harlequin has it.

sadly there is no MOV or AVI export module..

that is a big problem since you want to incorporate audio to your scene...
audio must be mixed in another soft...  i hope developers think exporting movie way for mac users :)

Just be patient. They are working on a h.264 export for Mac. It's just a matter of time :)

yeah.. in the meawhile... you can combine your work with blender too.. is a great video editor and is easy to use...

1- Export your image frame from OTz
2- Use AviDemux to créate an AVI from them
3- Import the AVI file into Blender (Video edition room)
4- add your sounds, music, effects, etc
5- Export your finished work as MOV, AVI or MPEG
