I have a MacBook Air as my primary computer but I am considering to buy a cheap Pen-enabled PC for final line work and coloring. I'm curious what machines you guys use.

I'd love to buy something like a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 but I can't justify the expensive price as I already have an iPad Pro (which I love). Unfortunately there is no OpenToonz on the iPad so I need to look elsewhere. I'd love to hear what you use currently. Thanks!

I use an HP G60-552NR Notebook with Intel Core 2 Duo, and a Wacom Graphire 4 tablet.

Thanks Jesus, so you use an external drawing tablet them? I've tried this but I have a lot of trouble doing the inking without seeing where the lines are. I can do sketching no problem and do my actual animation on my iPad Pro, but for cleanup I'd love something more "Cintiq" like (without the expensive cost preferably).

yup, it's an external tablet, it's not cintiq like, but it's still pretty good. I think the old cintiqs should be low in price by now, but there are some alternatives that are not wacom tablets.

An app called Astropad allows you to access any software you run on your computer and use the iPad like a Cintiq. The actual software on the computer, OpenToonz in this case, does not get installed on the iPad so you do not need to look for iPad/iOS software. Astropad basically captures a section of the display and reproduces it on the iPad screen. If the software can be used to draw at all the Apple Pencil can be used as the input device. So far the only difference I have experienced is with Autodesk Graphic. When I draw a stroke there is a brief moment when it is rasterized then it updates to a vector on the iPad. It is so fast without a delay anywhere except in the art quality so you do not get tripped like a hiccup might cause. When I use the iOS version of Autodesck Graphic there is no delay at all. But as you know there is no iOS version of OpenToonz. I am able to use Toon Boom Harmony Premium, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. flawlessly with the Apple Pencil/iPad Pro/Astropad setup.
